Final Phase of Tirupati Balaji Temple Construction in Jammu Nears Completion, Opening Scheduled for June 8

Jammu’s much-anticipated Tirupati Balaji temple construction is reaching its final stage, with preparations underway for the grand opening on June 8. Nestled amidst the picturesque Shivalik forests in Majeen, the temple spans across a sprawling 62-acre land, boasting an estimated cost of INR 30 crore. Envisioned to become one of the largest temples in the Jammu region, its inauguration is expected to bolster religious and pilgrimage tourism in the union territory.

This forthcoming temple in Jammu marks the sixth Balaji Temple established outside of Andhra Pradesh, joining the ranks of esteemed Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) temples in Hyderabad, Chennai, Kanyakumari, Delhi, and Bhubaneswar. Speaking about this milestone, YV Subba Reddy, Chairman of TTD, confirmed that the temple’s construction is nearly completed and devotees can commence their visit from June 8. Rituals within the temple precincts are set to commence on June 3.

During an inspection of the Jammu temple, Chairman YV Subba Reddy emphasized that the revered system and practices observed in Tirumala will also be diligently followed here. Situated on the route connecting Jammu and Katra, the home of the Vaishno Devi temple, this new temple is strategically located. Moreover, the construction of this temple is part of TTD’s broader initiative to establish Balaji temples across the country.

The TTD’s objective is to provide devotees who are unable to travel to the Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh an opportunity to seek blessings at these temples in various cities. This ambitious endeavor aims to facilitate spiritual connectivity and enrich the devotion of believers nationwide.
