For just Rs 699 per month, users can enjoy this subscription on both iOS and Android. In the near future, Meta will introduce a web purchase option priced at Rs 599 per month.

The company expressed their satisfaction with the positive results from their global testing of Meta Verified, which prompted them to expand its availability in India. They will continue to honor previously granted verified badges based on existing criteria.

Meta Verified is designed to support aspiring creators in growing their presence on Instagram and Facebook. This subscription bundle offers a verified badge, authenticating users’ accounts with a government ID. It also provides proactive account protection and access to account support. Based on learnings from initial tests in Australia and New Zealand, Meta made some adjustments to the offering, such as removing increased reach for additional test countries. Similar adjustments will be made as Meta Verified rolls out in India.

With Meta Verified in India, users will benefit from a verified badge that confirms the authenticity of their account, protected from impersonation through proactive account monitoring, and receive assistance with common account issues. Currently available in English, account support will be extended to include Hindi in the coming months.

For accounts that were verified prior to the introduction of Meta Verified, the verified badge will be retained. These accounts underwent a thorough evaluation to ensure their authenticity, recognizing their vulnerability to impersonation. Maintaining the verified badge is crucial to safeguard these accounts and the people engaging with them.

Meta’s long-term goal is to develop a valuable subscription offering that caters to creators, businesses, and the entire community. To achieve this, Meta Verified undergoes a series of checks throughout the application process. Accounts must meet minimum activity requirements and applicants must be at least 18 years old. Additionally, applicants are required to submit a government ID matching their profile name and photo.
