Panchayat Raj Minister Urges Junior Panchayat Secretaries to End Protests and Resume Duties
In a press conference held in Hanamkonda on Tuesday, Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao appealed to junior panchayat secretaries (JPS) to cease their ongoing protest against the state government and promptly return to their duties. The minister cautioned that failure to comply with the government’s deadline of 5 pm on Tuesday would result in the termination of their services.
Minister Errabelli highlighted that during their recruitment process, the JPS had agreed not to form unions or organizations and had committed to accepting the government’s decision regarding their regularisation. Furthermore, they had pledged to diligently serve in the villages where they were assigned and adhere to the government’s established regulations. He emphasized that the regularisation of services would be extended to all JPS, subject to an evaluation conducted by a committee appointed by the state government.
Expressing concern, the minister urged the secretaries to resist the influence of opposition party leaders and refrain from forming unions, as it contravened the terms of their agreement. He also implored the JPS to withdraw their protest immediately and rejoin their duties, assuring them that the state government was actively addressing their concerns and would make a decision in the near future.
